8 favourite coffee spots in Tamraght

Some of my favourite past times are chilling out, meeting friends, and tapping away on a laptop in local cafes. Good coffee, chats, and sharing amlou smothered msemems! I value good service, good vibes, and supporting the local community.

These are some of the places I recommend when family and friends are visiting.

In Tamraght village

Le Petit Kawa, formerly Babakoul

At the heart of the Tamraght community, this is the place for pre or post-surf breakfasts, pizza, waffles, afternoon tea, and Moroccan lunch and dinner specialties. It is family-owned and has a super-friendly team. Serving strong coffee, fresh juices and Moroccan mint tea. Ask for a ‘ns ns’ for that quintessential half-coffee, half-milk. A mix of locals, digital nomads, and other surfed-out tourists.

Hey Yallah

A minimalist, specialist café in upper Tamraght. Serving delicious barista-style coffee with seasonal specialties and daily homemade pastries. This is where we go for friendly vibes and a smooth artisan flat white. Dairy-free milk options are available. Their weekend pop-up markets attract a crowd and check out their Instagram page for updates on community events and workshops hosted in their upstairs concept space.

Daydream

Where a coffee bar meets with a stylish boutique. The café is mainly served on the sun-baked terrace, barista-style and delicious. Dairy-free milk options are available. A selection of cakes and pastries too. Beautiful store with inspiring coffee table books, artisan nut butters, handmade jewellery, rugs, poufs and other dream-worthy goods. Check out their Instagram or website for updated items. International shipping is available.

Adams Cafe

Family-friendly cafe in Tamraght with plenty of shade and pretty wooden tables on a beautiful leafy terrace. The staff are fantastic, super friendly and accommodating all needs. Their varied menu offers a mix of healthy colourful juices, creatively served salads, breakfast classics such as smashed avocado & egg, and other European/Moroccan dishes. Their cappuccino comes with a healthy or unhealthy dollop of chantilly cream. Kids are welcome. Selection of books to dip into whilst you enjoy the chilled cafe vibes. Fibre optic WIFI. Check their social media for Live Music/ Open Mic nights, and other community events.

Let's Be

Stunning African-inspired interiors. For those who like plant-based, vegan, vegetarian, healthy food, or just a fresh and colourful menu. Their smoothies and juices are packed with superfoods such as spirulina, bee pollen and chia. Beautifully presented breakfast pancakes, Buddha bowl style salads, fresh tacos, pizzas, and sweet treats such as homemade raw chocolates and 'nice'-cream. Check their social media for more details.

La Paniere

This is the main bakery/ boulangerie/ patisserie serving Tamraght village, it gets packed at the weekend. Indoor and outdoor seating cafe with a simple pastry, eggs, and bread Moroccan breakfast menu. Lovely coffee, Moroccan mint tea, fresh pastries, and Moroccan bakery treats. Check their Facebook for more info.

By the ocean

Le Navire

Great place for breakfast overlooking the waves and Devils Rock. Good selection of tables & parasols inside and outside on their huge oceanfront terrace. Varied breakfast menu, as well as sweet and savoury crepes, and generous ice creams. WIFI for those that can work with that view! Check their social media for more info.

Plancha de Rocher

The glass-fronted cafe is a lovely place to see the sunset, even on a windy day. Overlooking a surf spot known as Crocs. Traditional Moroccan breakfasts, and a seafood-centric menu for lunch and dinners. More expensive than others in the area, but the price is reflected in the comfort and style.

I hope this helps you find a spot to relax, meet friends, or log on while in Tamraght.
