Places to eat in Taghazout Bay

So much has happened in Taghazout these last few years. With the speedy development of Taghazout Bay has come many new openings and upgrades. It’s become a popular place for locals and tourists to come together and enjoy Taghazout’s buzzing food and drink scene.

This blog has scribbled down a round-up of my favourite places to eat and drink in and around Taghazout. Based on my experience and tastebuds, I invite you to take what resonates, leave the rest, and enjoy discovering your own favourite sweet or salty spots!

I have divided the village into three parts; places overlooking the ocean, others on the main street, and some of the new cafés along the Taghazout Bay corniche.

For ocean vibes

Kitchen Club Taghazout

This trendy cocktail bar/ocean-side restaurant is part of the laidback luxury Seaside Boutique Hotel. A striking infinity pool, beautiful open-air, and leafy terrace. Choose from tables on the ocean's edge or tucked into the trees beneath twinkling fairy lights. Seaside is a great option when you want to get dressed up and are in the mood for cocktails and good vibes by the ocean! Their sharing platters can be lovely as a tapas-style snack for groups. Check out their website for more info.

Amouage

Next door to the Kitchen Club, so close you could easily confuse the entrances. This cocktail lounge bar/ restaurant is built around an inviting infinity pool. It is the flagship of the Surf Maroc collection. Upstairs are boutique hotel rooms and a beautiful yoga studio open for drop-in classes. The bar/restaurant is super quirky, trendy, and inspiring in design. Lots of areas to sit inside and outside and enjoy the stunning ocean views and sounds. They have special events, such as a BBQ and Moroccan Night, on these nights (Monday and Thursday) access is on pre-paid reservations only. Check their website for more info.

Windy Bay

It is a pretty, relaxed oceanfront cafe offering great breakfasts, brunch, pizzas, friendly service, and cute tables overlooking the main beach and fishing boats in Taghazout. No alcohol served. See their social media for the menu and opening hours. They have a co-working space on the upper terraces, daily prices, and other longer stay packages available.

World of Waves Surfhouse

This is our go-to place for a relaxed breakfast on their shaded terrace or atmospheric dinners by the waves. Lots of tables inside and outside. They have a lovely menu with tagines, grilled fish, burgers, pasta, traditional Moroccan breakfasts, and smoothie bowls. Great professional team and service. Bonus: they serve wine and beer. Check their website for more info.

Surf Berbere

This is a lovely sunset spot, with low tables and cushions to sit back and enjoy a juice or Moroccan mint tea. It gets super busy, so head down early if you want a table for the sunset hour! Check their website for more info.

For street vibes

Teapot Cafe

We love this new addition for healthy and varied menu - something different to other cafes. They also offer tables inside (upstairs) for co-working. No alcohol licence. Check their social media for more info.

Dar Josephine

This Moroccan French inspired family-run restaurant has been around for a while now. They offer delicious home-cooked Moroccan dishes. The style is cute and cosy, tables tucked into leafy trees, like a secret garden. Great service. Affordable pricing with a 3-course menu for Dhs 110 per person. No alcohol licence. Check their social media for more info.

Munga Kitchen

We love the style of Munga Guesthouse and Favela, a luxury boutique hotel and fine dining restaurant, both are great for a splurge if your budget allows.

We were thrilled when they opened Munga Kitchen, a new casual, relaxed wine bar/ dining option. Super popular with holidaymakers and local residents, it offers a well-priced menu and great friendly atmosphere. Design is super chic, with driftwood, beach vibes, it is cool, friendly and aesthetically interesting. The bar area gets busy, you will need to book for a table outside, inside, as well as downstairs in a cosy cellar-style room. We particularly love their home-made pizzas! Check their website for more info.

Red Clay Cafe

A vegan cafe with friendly, foodie-expert and passionate owners. We visited on a Friday and loved the fresh coffee and creative brunch menu with multiple twists on Moroccan classics. Salty msemen with fried mushrooms and a vegan ricotta, and delicious brioche buns! It is one of the few places in the area that offers decaff coffee. Get there early in your stay; they often sell out of produce due to popularity. Non-dairy milks only ie oat or almond. Takeaway coffees are served in a ceramic cup, for which you will be charged a refundable deposit of 10 dhs. Closed Wednesday and Thursdays.

Along the corniche

Sud KM17

Located right on the edge of the promenade, part of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. A lovely spot for morning coffee, or a sunset cocktail. And for a splurge, come for lunch or dinner. The menu is available on their website.

Espresso Lab

In the sun-drenched Tawenza Square, this innovative Turkish chain of specialist coffee houses offers delicious barista-style coffee and freshly baked pastries and cakes, noted generous portion sizes! If you would like more about the company, please have a read here.

I hope this inspires you to explore and eat out in Taghazout. Please share this blog with anyone who may like to read it.
