Hotel Review: Riad Alaaiun. A Quiet, Stylish Stay in Marrakech from €179.
Looking for a stylish riad stay in Marrakech? Riad Alaaiun is a well-priced, luxury riad located in a quiet corner of the Medina. Here’s my full review after a stay in April 2026— including what it’s really like, who it’s best for, and whether it’s worth the price.
At a Glance
Location: in a quiet, untouristy neighbourhood, northwestern edge of the Medina
Style: contemporary riad vibes, cosy corners and soft colour palettes
Rooms: spacious and well-thought-out; I loved our Deluxe Medina Suite
Best for: design-conscious travellers, adults-only
Standout feature: the breakfast and our gorgeous suite
Price: from EUR179 per night
Quick Verdict
Super cool and stylish riad in a quiet corner of the Medina, with a neighbourhood feel; we didn’t see any other tourists in that area. Peaceful, empty streets, away from the crowds. Great for returning visitors looking for a quieter, more authentic stay.

Why I Chose Riad Alaaiun
Location: I wanted to experience this quiet corner of the Medina. For this trip, I wanted to get away from the crowds. Also, to be close to Bab el Khemis flea market, and the shopping/ sights in Gueliz, Majorelle Gardens, YSL Museum. I am also a big fan of Brummell Projects, a well-respected and well-liked brand; other projects include Maison Brummell Majorelle. It’s a great price point. Always love having a small pool to cool off, and different terrace areas for chilling, tea and rooftop breakfasts.
First Impressions
I loved the style, the warm people, and the quiet area. Bespoke furniture mix of modern and traditional. Little touches like the honesty bar, fireplaces, and a small boutique for travel essentials, including cute pyjamas. For a new riad, the team were fantastic; you could feel they’ve carried the experience over from Maison Brummell.
Rooms at Riad Alaaiun
Rooms are split into two categories: Standard Fountain and Deluxe Medina. The riad has two courtyards, each with its own style, and the rooms also reflect this difference. We stayed in a Deluxe Medina on the rooftop, which was a great size and a well-thought-out, curated suite. It was close to the terrace pool. Tall wooden shuttered glass windows. Huge comfy bed. A working desk. A WC and separate shower room, with a sink and a large mirror by the bedroom window. I loved the earthy design details: terracotta-tiled floor, rattan furnishings, woven-wood ceiling, earth walls, thick-pile wool rugs; love the natural textures and colours.
Food and Drink at Riad Alaaiun
We had a very special breakfast, served as a trio stack-plate platter: including fresh fruit, pastries, breads, yoghurt, cheese, and separately, eggs made to order.
In-house dining offered; we didn’t have time to enjoy this on a short stay
Honesty bar in reception
Facilities
Pool: a splash pool
Spa: at their sister hotel, Maison Brummell
Gym: no gym
Extras (boutique, yoga, etc.): a small boutique with stylish travel essentials, including PJs, slippers.
What I Loved
Highlights:
Our room, the Deluxe Medina on the rooftop with a huge comfy bed.
The service, booking taxis, a steamer for clothes and coffee to the room. Facilitating our last-minute getting-ready-for-dinner and getting-out-the-door quickly.
The rooftop views and chilling there in the afternoon; you can see as far as the Koutoubia Mosque.
Nice touches:
Brummell Spring Highlights newsletter in the room, we noted Flowers (and went for drinks, super cool) and the new YSL Exhibition for 2026 (for another trip).
Full-size Botanika products in the bathroom.
What Could Be Improved
Honestly, hard to find fault. If you are nervous about getting lost on empty streets, ask staff to accompany you, and keep their 24-hour contact number and parking drop-off address handy.
Is Riad Alaaiun Worth It?
Yes!! 100%. Standard Rooms start from EUR179 per night. Deluxe Medina Rooms start from EUR259 per night.
A similar riad hotel in the busier Bab Laksour, Bab Doukala district would be approx. 30% more.
