Recommended family hotels Taghazout Bay

Wooden bungalow with hammock on the deck at Radisson Blu Taghazout

Cabana at Radisson Blu, Taghazout Bay surf village

So you’re thinking about coming to Taghazout for a family holiday.

Amazing. You’re in for a treat!

The Taghazout Bay region is an excellent place for family holidays. It offers year-round sunshine, endless beaches, child-friendly surf spots, and easy-going locals. Plus, a wide range of accommodation options and delicious, affordable food make it a popular choice for families who return year after year.

Maybe you’ve booked your flights, maybe not. Either way, let’s see if I can help you narrow down the options of where to stay.

Some of my current favourite family-friendly accommodation options, based on recent visitors, are as follows;

For cabana and eco-sleep style

The Radisson Blu gets rave reviews from friends with teenage kids. It’s a nice-sized hotel, not too big, not too small, with good facilities, including a large outdoor pool, wellness spa, and Surf Academy. Located right on the beach at Panorama surf spot, which is excellent for beginner to intermediate surfers, and beach lounging. It’s also a 10-minute walk along the promenade to Taghazout village. Their cabana-style accommodations offer one or two bedrooms and private balconies and are well spread across the hotel’s leafy gardens. The activity schedule includes daily yoga and games. Friendly and personalised service. Eco-labelled, while not perfect, they are taking steps to become more sustainable.

For surf camp vibes

Surf & Friends

This beautiful guesthouse has a fun, friendly surf lodge feel right in the heart of Tamraght village. Easy walking distance to all the cafes, shops, and restaurants. They have a mix of rooms, including some apartment-style ideal for families. There is a small pool deck and loungers on one terrace, and a yoga terrace for sunset classes. Nice cosy areas to eat indoors and outdoors. Good quality surf equipment and instructors. Surf packages with or without meals are offered. Suppose you are a family looking to surf for 3+ days. This could be a great option as you can pre-book surf lessons and equipment with your accommodation.

Sleep with a view of Anchor Point

La Source

On the north side of Taghazout village, close to Anchor Point. Great for surfing families with advanced surfers.  Walking distance to the Taghazout surf spots: Mysteries, Killers, Anchor Point, and right overlooking La Source, which is a beach-lovers paradise. Accommodation is in 2 or 3-bedroom apartments. Incredible ocean views from the hotel. Outdoor pool. Due to its remote location, best for people who are hiring a car.

For families into yoga and surfing

Amouage by Surf Maroc

One of Taghazout’s first boutique hotels, in the centre of the village. Attracts a trendy crowd. The main terrace has an infinity pool with sun loungers and a busy bar, and around sunset, it is packed with party vibes. Stunning ocean views. They are well set up to offer surf lessons for beginners and improver levels, as well as surf guiding for advanced surfers. The indoor yoga studio offers a good mix of weekly classes and (usually) experienced and professional teachers.  In their words, ‘We care about yoga at Surf Maroc just as much as we care about surf.’  Weekly evening events include BBQ and DJ nights.

Paradis Plage

One of the original family-friendly resorts in the Taghazout area. Located in Imi Ouaddar, a quiet local beach around 10 minutes drive north of Taghazout village. Well-established hotel with extensive facilities, including a Kids Club, wellness spa, Rip Curl shop and watersports centre. Yogis will love their stunning glass-fronted yoga studio on the beach, which offers 2-3 daily yoga classes. They offer a selection of dining options and a beach bar with a fire pit for sunset. Recent reports are that service can be slow, and there have been mixed reviews on lunch and dinner options. Worth checking out the local fish market next door, where you can buy fresh fish and have it grilled in the restaurants next door. And other restaurants in the village, such as Le Petit Pecheur, are worth a visit.  As well as those in Taghazout, see our latest blog for inspiration.

Private rental villas for families

Like this gorgeous and reasonably priced two-bedroom Air Bnb riad in upper Tamraght. A quieter, residential area offering a glimpse into village life away from the busier tourism developments. Light, fresh riad with pretty interiors and a garden with splash pool. Private house, ideal for two adults and two children.

Riad Les Grains de Sable is a fantastic option for families or group of friends wanting space, luxury, personalised service, and privacy. Total of six bedrooms, sleeping up to 14 people. Several indoor and outdoor dining options, a heated pool, roof terraces, resident staff, and a car available for local trips.

Yet to visit The Yogi Surfer villa , but hear it is a charming riad available for private rental. Three of the four bedrooms have ocean views; the fourth opens to the central courtyard and pool. Experienced team of surf coaches and staff from their sister hotel nearby.

So there you go—a snapshot of some of the current family-friendly hotel suggestions. There are numerous others, and while I endeavor to keep this blog updated, I would always recommend checking the latest reviews on Google business and Tripadvisor.
