Why I love Taghazout style

Taghazout is the quintessential former sleepy fishing village, now buzzing surfing mecca. Home to some of our favourite surf spots, brimming with cafes, restaurants and boutiques that cater for all budgets and tastebuds. A place where people from all over the world meet, respectful of the local’s culture and traditions, sharing a desire to live a simple life in tune with the ocean.

Here’s a round up of why we love Taghazout!

Surfing

Some of Morocco’s finest waves are found in the Taghazout region. It is a magnet for beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers alike. The best time to surf in Taghazout depends on your level, typically the Winter months (October - April) bring the bigger swell and optimum conditions for intermediate and advanced surfers. Whilst the Summer (May - September) offers gentler and warmer waves, perfect for beginners. Having said that in the Winter it is possible to find spots for beginners too, and there is always the white water to practice on!

World-class waves at Anza and Anchor Point

Iconic local surf spots Anza and Anchor Point have now established themselves as world-class waves, playing host to a leg of the World Surf League's international tour each season.

A touch of luxury

Now that the new luxury hotels in Taghazout Bay are open, there has been an influx of new oceanfront cafés, cocktail bars, and trend-setting restaurants.

Soulful and salty vibes

Whilst the menus and interior design had an upgrade over the quieter months of 2020, the essence and rustic charm of timelessness of Taghazout remains. Visitors to Taghazout bask in good vibes and embrace the surf culture: quirky artisan surf shops, panoramic Atlantic Ocean views, and endless sandy beaches. Get lost in Taghazout's colourful maze of streets, and attune yourself to the slower pace of its residents.

Abundance of yoga offerings

Taghazout has firmly established itself on the yoga world map. We love the creative flow and good vibes yoga enthusiasts bring to the area. With yoga teachers coming to Taghazout from all over the world, you can enjoy a wealth and variety of yoga teaching and healers. Nourish yourself with sunrise and sunset yoga classes on cactus-filled roof terraces while tuning into that epic wave soundtrack.

Digital nomad community

We have also observed a rise in the arrival of digital nomads. Freelancers and creatives, tapping away on laptops in cafes and co-working hot spots. We love the inspiration, motivation to work, and creative spark they bring to the area.

Whatever your Taghazout holiday needs, we invite you to take your watch off and embrace the sweet soul of this village that blends traditional and modern life so harmoniously.
